Cascade Manor is the 2025 Official Community’s Choice Winner for Best 55+ Retirement Community! Thank you to everyone who voted for us. Most of our residents chose Cascade Manor for their retirement because they're from here and wouldn't dream of leaving this beautiful, loving community. And that says a lot about just how wonderful Eugene is.💚 🎉 Thank you, Eugene! #CommunityChoiceAwards #AwardWinningCommunity #SeniorLiving
🌟 Meet Bob Watada, a true community leader and lifelong educator. 🌟 Bob and his wife, Rosa, have been residents of Cascade Manor for six years. His favorite thing about living here is the strong sense of community and getting to know his neighbors. As Activities Chair, he organizes a wide range of activities, from musical performances and holiday celebrations to many other events that bring residents together. Before joining Cascade Manor, he dedicated 32 years to public service in Hawaii. He worked in job development helping individuals who had lost their jobs or needed training, and later spent 11 years regulating political campaigns to ensure transparency and accountability. Early in his career, he also served in the Peace Corps in Peru, helping farmers build cooperatives and strengthen their communities. Even today, he continues his mission of education and cultural awareness. As a volunteer with the Asian American Council of Oregon, he shares Asian traditions, music, and film with the broader community. He also organizes the annual Hiroshima and Nagasaki commemoration in Eugene, helping the community understand the history and lasting impact of these events. We’re proud to have Bob and his wife as part of our Cascade Manor family, helping make our community stronger and more connected every day.💚
Over 200 people gathered at Cascade Manor yesterday to break ground on an exciting new project, The Camas, that will bring 29 more homes to Eugene’s only continuing care retirement community. Among them were The Duck and Ward 2 Councilman Matt Keating. Cascade Manor provides the opportunity for “folks who love our community to stay in our community and continue to live, work and play in our community,” Keating told the crowd. The $35 million project reflects a growing demand for spacious, amenity-rich living environments that offer both independence and peace of mind through a spectrum of care. “It’s an amazingly rich, fabulous community of people, and I’m so glad to be part of it,” said Hannah Dean, a resident and member of the Cascade Manor Board. “As a resident told me, ‘It’s better to be five years too early than five minutes too late.’” #Groundbreaking #TheCamas
Residents joined Charlie Quinn from the McKenzie River Trust for a guided walk through the Mt. Pisgah – Willamette Confluence Preserve. The 1,300-acre site features restored native habitats and supports a wide range of wildlife. A beautiful day spent learning about local conservation efforts. 🌿🌾
