After being leased to industrial tenants for over 75 years, this Chlorinated Solvent release site required full-scale remediation to achieve MCLs. No small task given that MCLs are rarely met on solvent sites with current in situ technologies. The Cascade team proposed using targeted DPT injection of our Colloidal iZVI chemical reductant supplemented with bioaugmentation. This was a Cascade alternative to the injection well, anaerobic bio approach identified in the RFP, but one that offered better distribution and persistence in multiple lithological zones, plus eliminating biofouling of well screens over repeated injections. All at a lower overall cost to the client.
