CHOC, now Rady Children’s Health has unveiled its first Associate WellSpace—a thoughtfully designed, biophilic space created to support the emotional and physical well-being of physicians and staff. Inspired by the successful WellSpace initiative in OC schools, this restorative environment offers calming design, mindfulness activities, grounding tools and guided exercises for healthcare professionals. The space was thoughtfully developed in partnership with Design With Purpose and supported by an inaugural gift from the Guido Family.
This past Halloween, 12-year-old Nicholas dressed up as his favorite CHOC oncologists—the doctors who walked beside him through two long years of leukemia treatment. One beautiful day in 1985, CHOC Children's made the decision to separate the respiratory care services from St. Joes and created the CHOC Respiratory Care Department. CHOC, part of Rady Children’s Health, has been awarded a 5-year, $2.7M NIH grant to continue the world’s largest longitudinal study of brain development in babies born very preterm. Our annual Minnie Walk brings the CHOC Walk in the Park spirit to patients who are unable to attend—and this year was extra special as we celebrated Disneyland Resort's 70th anniversary. Thanks to our generous sponsors and the incredible Disney VoluntEARS, our second floor was transformed with balloons, arts and crafts, booths filled with goodies, and joyful visits from Minnie Mouse, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Daisy Duck! Together, we concluded the 2025 CHOC Walk season with fun, smiles, and over $3 million raised to help children and families at CHOC Children's receive the very best care.
CHOC Children's first pediatric-only Urgent Care in Irvine is now open! 🎉 This important milestone was made possible by the extraordinary generosity of the Tsao Family Foundation. Their vision and commitment to pediatric excellence have created a space where children can receive trusted and compassionate after-hours care, seven days a week, 365 days a year. Thanks to the Tsao family, more children will have access to CHOC’s world-class care right in their own community.
