The hiring manager reached out to me and we connected on a Saturday. He scheduled me for the upcoming Monday to interview and I did with him, the leadership team, and the managers I would have been working with. I met each group separately and it lasted nearly two hours. The hiring manager wanted me to start the following day or the day after and I let him know that I was evaluating a few options and would need until Wednesday to make a decision, and would be able to start the following Monday. He was taken back and went from "I will get back to you with an offer today or tomorrow" to "then we will keep interviewing people." Instead of sending an offer I was called in for second interview on Wednesday with the managers where they asked me a lot of situational questions and role plays. It was rushed and didn't start until 15 minutes after it was scheduled. The hiring manager left me hanging from that Wednesday through Saturday afternoon after multiple attempts to reach him via email, phone and text. The interview process was disjointed and not transparent, the hiring manager was unprofessional and rude about communicating once I was open about having a few other opportunities, and the office is a real dungeon. The team I would have worked with seemed overworked and unhealthy. I was so turned off by the experience that I withdrew my application rather than let it take up my mental bandwidth through the weekend.
