Applied online for Educator Position at a new store that had not opened yet. I patiently waited a little over a week for a response, and shortly thereafter I got an email about a group interview the following monday. It stated dress casual and prepare to possibly sit on the floor.
I showed up to the group interview at a coffee shop with 4 other interviewers. There were two interviewers, the store manager and a key leader. Started off with introductions- our name, where we are from. It was very casual, and we were told not to answer questions by going around in a circle but instead whoever wanted to share their answer first was welcome to do so.
We were asked questions like "Describe a time when you received negative feedback, how did you handle it and what came about afterwards" and "What is a goal that you have tackled/ accomplished and what is a goal that you have for yourself that you're really afraid of?"
Also, we were asked "What will your role be on our team?" Another question was "What made you click submit on the application- why did you apply to lulu lemon"
The interview lasted an hour, and at the end of the interview, they told us because the store was opening soon, there wasn't going to be a second interview and we would know within 48 hours if we were hired.
Received an automated rejection email the following day saying they went with a different candidate. During the interview, they seemed to favor the girls who had connections with them through a sorority, mutual acquaintance, etc. One of the girls knew the store manager pretty well.
Overall, it was a good interview experience and the interview was very casual. However, I do look at the company a differently and don't know if I am as much of an advocate for them as I was before after meeting the people behind the scenes
