Phone screen with recruiter followed by assessment test.
The HR lady seemed to be obsessed with how much my target compensation would be. I gave her a range, she said i can see where your total comp will be, but for this role we can probably only do so much. She however mentioned that the role will be reporting to a VP and there is a possibility that while in the interim the role will report to VP, there could be a director who i could be reporting to later.
I mentioned I would like to be considered for the director role if it came about after i joined.
She didnt seem to think I was capable of the director level but insisted i needed to take the assessment if I were to be moved to next stage.
Took the assessment - and then radio silence.
Essentially she had rejected my candidacy but wanted me to take the test so they can build candidate profiles. What was adding insult to injury was she did not respond to even one of the emails I sent asking about status.
I emailed her stating if I did not get a response - I would escalate since she was behaving unprofessionally by not even sending a boiler plate rejection email.
I then escalated to executive mgmt( on linkedin). Within an hour, I received a call from Director of HR at ICIMS and she wanted to "explain their process" to me, and that she noted that I had written a "strong" email to the HR talent acquisition lady.
After we discussed for about 15 minutes it was clear that the HR talent acquisition lady had realised i wont fit the role in the initial call itself(due to pay). However had decided to let me take the test, And not respond to me - Clearly she didnt feel the need to respond to candidates email or update status after candidate spends taking a video recorded assessment.
Avoid this firm. Silly hiring processes, and poor HR talent folks will result in poor hires! If you cannot spend 5 mins or even send a boiler plate rejection email, how do you expect candidates to take your video recorded assessments?
