The interview process was thoroughly unprofessional. Recommended to me by professional contacts, the process began with HR and an immediate demand to upgrade my current internet contract at additional cost. My request to postpone this until the end of the process, in case of an offer, was denied. Multiple points of contact made reliable communication difficult. A clearly defined process with various steps, outlined in writing, was not adhered to by GoFluent, and by that point, the process had already dragged on for several weeks.
A meeting scheduled as a language teaching demo was reduced by the male interviewer to two questions for native speakers, during which he insisted on observing a specific rounded mouth movement. No questions about my experience were asked, nor was there a briefing or a test for teaching a lesson.
This was one of the most unprofessional processes I have encountered in 20 years, capped off by ghosting from all contacts, who ultimately stopped responding to emails altogether. Despite the potential GoFluent may have as a company with its range of services, this approach is highly concerning, and I cannot recommend pursuing employment with them.
