I was contacted to apply for this position by the recruiter who found my information and thought I was a good fit on LinkedIn.
The communication was great at first. First round interview was over the phone with the same recruiter & went well after discussing my experience and the role. It seemed like a great fit. The recruiter was great with feedback and "selling" me to the hiring manager. I was chosen to progress to the second round interview with the hiring manager. The interview went okay, I've definitely "clicked" more with other hiring managers, but I still felt as if it was a good fit after our conversation.
However, despite multiple follow-up attempts, the recruiter went radio silent on me. I finally received the automated rejection a month later.
I've worked with quite a few recruiters who have sought me out for positions. I'm appalled that a recruiter would reach out to me, ask for my time and energy, and then fail to even give me a courtesy "we're going in another direction" email.
