      Entretien

I got called in for an interview and while the staff I talked to were all friendly, I got a strange gut feeling about the place. It felt like they were all actors. They didn't care about my qualifications and didn't really care about my experiences, education, or anything else that you would expect a place of employment to care about. I have no idea why universities allow companies like this anywhere near a career fair. They said that most of the day I would be out of the office making sales (mostly Quill products).. which they don't provide a base salary for (if you don't make a sale, you're working for free).. Just to be clear, that's not what bothered me.. there is nothing wrong with a sales job where you work on commission if that's what you're looking for. What I didn't like was the fact that they made the job sound like it wasn't going to be a SALES job. They said it was a marketing and sales job. When I asked about where the marketing would come in, the interviewer said "well isn't the best way to market something to sell it?" ???????????? Interesting. Moving on.. They kept talking about how quickly I could "advance to the next level of management" without really talking about the current job I was interviewing for. They didn't even make it sound like you need any skills at all to "advance".. just to hire new people to work below you... In short, blumarc reeked to me of a multi-level marketing scheme and a huge waste of time. I also want to add that even if for some reason I WANTED to work here, I wouldn't be able to afford it. They don't offer any kind of travel compensation or use of a company car (and most of the day is spent driving around to meet with clients), they don't offer a base salary, not even for the first few months while you train.. This job doesn't pay until AFTER you've already worked for 6 months for free.. and invested thousands of miles driving from place to place to try and learn how to get some clients. I got called to a second and third interview within several hours of completing each previous interview.. They were pushy for me to come in quickly and didn't really seem to want to give me a chance to reflect on the interview process and think over my options. I didn't go to the third interview.

Two part interview. First is with Melissa, the manager and CEO, second is with a corporate trainer. They tell you multiple times about the paid training and how quickly you can move up to entice you into joining their team. Dont buy it, be very wary unless you are super desperate.

It sounded good to me but inspite of mentioning over phone repeatedly that I am not into marketing, they convince me to come saying " you will be trained" not to worry I drove 20 mins down to bridgewater wasting my 30 mins over a job that works on commissions as I get to know from the reviews. Never did the interviewer mention about it during the interview or else I would have not proceeded further. My interview according to me was okay though not good, but was really upset when my expectation was shattered. Really hoped highly about the company.i was very open and clear in my answer, may be they wanted some artificiality, which I did not have. Could Have Saved some time and energy.
