The first stage interview was online and meant to be an informal chat for the team to get to know me. There were only two members of the company interviewing at this stage. The first few questions were about the usual stuff like tell me about yourself and so on. However, one interviewer wanted an explanation of the gaps in my CV even though explanations were written in my CV. I noticed that while I was giving them personal and detailed information, one interviewer was rolling her eyes and sighed as if to signal that I should hurry up. I thought I imagined this but it happened repeatedly. I tried my best to highlight my skills and talents that aligned with the job even though they didn't ask and in spite of their unprofessional attitude. It was obvious to me that they already made their mind up before the interview that I wasn't their ideal candidate. I didn't get through to the second interview stage.
