I had two rounds of phone interviews (2 days in a row) with a very pleasant, energetic recruiter. This process was mostly 'screening' - conversations about the future of ZocDoc, my interests, etc. The actual interview was conducted over Skype a few days later.
I can easily say the man that interviewed me was one of the rudest individuals I have ever interacted with on a professional level. He rolled his eyes at me at least 4 times, was slouched in his chair, had clearly minimized my Skype 'window' and was conducting other business. At one point he even taunted me: I asked "Do you hope to follow the same business model and have the same success in Europe?" (as they are expanding internationally). He paused, gave an incredulous laugh, and said "UMM, well obviouslyyyy we hope to have success wherever we go." It was an out of body experience. At the end of the interview, I still felt compelled to thank him for his time, etc. As I was thanking him, he kept mumbling "yep, yep" and impatiently nodded his head, with his hand hovered over his mouse, as if to indicate "c'mon, I'm trying to finish this up and you're bugging me." This was an experiene I will literally never forget.
