I applied for a product manager role via LinkedIn and had a good conversation with the recruiter during the phone screen. I was set up to speak with the hiring manager, who was the senior director. He was incredibly focused on what KPIs I used for my product, like what percentages, which clients, etc. and it felt like a little too much prying for the business confidential work that I was talking about. I told him this was something I worked on years ago and I was no longer with the company so I didn't remember all the specifics. I know they are a data-driven company but the questions were too into the weeds about the numbers rather than the candidate skills and accomplishments. He seemed a bit unengaged and not very personable. I did not move on which is fine because I don't think I would've liked to work for that person.

Met with the hiring manager about the role for 45 minutes. They gave background on both the company and role and asked basic questions about my background as it related to the open position. I also did a quick 15 minute call with the recruiter. Overall fine experience but they already had a candidate late in the process who they ended up extending an offer to.
