Contacted by Recruitment on LinkedIn about a role I don't have the technical skills but do have the soft skills for.
1. HR Screening about 2 weeks after initial contact. After which decided to proceed with the application.
2. About 10 days later phone interview 1 with hiring manager in USA. 90 mins and very relaxed.
3. Another phone interview with the same manager in USA. 90 mins and relaxed again, but this time my turn to ask the questions.
4. Phone interview with 2 members of the UK team. 45 mins, relaxed and easy no technical or difficult questions.
5. Emailed rejection yesterday, approximately 5 weeks from the time of application process starting.
They decided to go for more experience. I'm 32 with 6/7 years of professional experience. I'm guessing the other candidates were slightly older with more experience. I've got no issues with the process or their decision. But I do think that if I had got to a F2F interview I would have had a better chance as I've been told over the phone I sound much younger than I am.
