I went through a lengthy interview process where I gave the codility in which I scored 100 percent. After that an HR call of 20-30 minutes, then a hiring manager call of around 30 minutes (slot was of 45 minutes, but got concluded early). The hiring manager was nice, kind person. I thought I'd get to work with good people.
Afterwards I gave 3 interviews:
1 coding, easy level got asked in Java, although I specifically mentioned I haven't worked in it for a long time, but it was easy so I passed that.
1 General technical, in which the hiring manager, and another engineering manager asked questions about my background, and general CS related questions, went well, both interviewers were very nice, I had a great time giving this interview.
Then there was a system design interview, fairly hard, but the interviewer was again the most kind person, guided me through all of it, and at the end he was impressed by my design, so he asked if I had ever got the same problem in another interview elsewhere, to which I replied no, because well, I hadn't.
All the interviews went well, I thought that I'd get the job, but there was no reply even after a week. Then I emailed the HR, to which she didn't reply, afterward I followed up, and she said she'll setup a meeting. I thought I might be getting an offer? I mean of course at this point if they hadn't rejected me. But oh well, in the meeting she said that though they were impressed by my capabilities, the role that I applied for, was no longer available. But then she said she'll refer me to other roles, internally, which she did. Afterwards, I gave another round of interviews, well 4 actually, 4 more I mean, anyways, who is counting. After the other role's interviews, I got another rejection call, that I wasn't the right fit for the other role, but I can always re-apply. ggwp!
