2 five plus hour, gauntlet style face to face interviews where everyone asked the same questions for the most part. This did not seem like a coordinated effort, more like the interviewers were reminded they needed to participate in the interview that morning. Most seemed like they had never seen my resume before. Despite this , I felt like I interviewed extremely well. After my last interview the HR specialist (gatekeeper) came in and said there was a lot of excitement about me and that I could expect an offer and began to review the benefits package (she literally read from their booklet). I literally had to leave her multiple messaged a week later only to find out I wasn't being offered the position. They were very proud of how "thorough" they were being in their interview process, when in fact it was jus long.
1. HR Interview (regular screening interview)
2. Hiring Manager Interview (a 45 min 1:1 to understand if the position is a good fit)
3. Cross functional team Interview (a series of 1:1 with the cross functional team, had four separate 1:1)
4. VP Business Interview (a 30 min interview)
5. Release offer
Got an oral offer and was told that the offer letter is being prepared and waiting for final sign offs. But after 3 weeks of silence was told that they are going to freeze hiring for the position.

Hiring manager, 30-45mins. Then a month later, 5 people, 30mins - 1 hour each.
Worst interview experience. I don't have a technical background which is clear in my resume and how I represented myself. A few people on the panel don't think technical skills are needed, the rest of the panel asks nothing but technical questions. The last person was the rudest one. Ranting out loud about how unfit I am for the role, listing off specific areas including my major and my previous work experiences that are not what he's looking for.
I asked to end the interview early and even said that this isn't a fit, we don't need to run out the clock.
The employer should know what the job is. The candidate knows their background and experiences. There is no need to send a candidate this far through the process just to verbally beat them up on their credentials all along the way.
Waste of time.

Question 1
Interview questions were difficult because they were technical and I don't have a technical background.
