Entretien
When I interviewed for Xero there were 3 rounds. The first round is a phone screening done by their internal HR. The second round is a meeting with 2 managers, I was interviewed by a product design director and product design manager. I talked through a case study and was asked a few behavioural questions. The 3rd and last round is a meeting with the team you will be working with, this included a product designer, product manager and tech lead. In this round I was asked behavioural questions on how I would work with various team members and stakeholders. All in all the short 3 round interview process is a breeze unlike other companies that require design challenges.
However my negative experience is with the internal HR. The HR representative that I dealt with took forever to get back to me. I had to follow up multiple times for a response and for my second interview there was no follow up at all. Please do not ghost your applicants and please take the courtesy to respond even if the applicant was not successful. Xero was the only company out of 20 other companies I interviewed for that ghosted me.

It was an initial phone screening. Compared to other phone screenings, the recruiter had a neutral, unfriendly tone of voice and didn't seem to smile or make small talk it was just reading a standard script and asking the usual questions. It made me uncomfortable and left me with the feeling of having failed the interview despite the fact I met most of the job requirements. There were also some awkward silences after I had clearly finished speaking and it wasn't clear if she was listening or typing or waiting for me to give more detail.
I can only assume this attitude is a reflection of the company and I am never applying here again.
Positive process that offered challenge but also outlined the great opportunities they have. The managers were really open and honest where they had challenges too before someone signed the contract

Tough questions (some weren't even role related) and overall the whole interview process of 7/8 stages is ridiculous. I would get it if they're larger companies like Google or FB but seems like they have the time and waste money just to hire for a general role.
