I interviewed with the ML/applied science team based in Toronto for a senior applied scientist position. First, I had a 1-hour interview with the head of the team (principle applied scientist). He asked behavioral questions alongside some questions from my past experience. I was then given a coding challenge to work on. It went well and they confirmed that they loved the quality of my code, thinking, documentations and solution. The next step was to interview with a panel of 3, including the principal applied scientist (who interviewed me during the first session), an applied scientist, and an engineer. They mostly asked behavioral questions, some of them had already been asked during the first session. One of the interviewers had an impolite attitude which was strange and unprofessional. They intentionally created a stressful situation where they ask vague general behavioral questions. This was totally unfair, especially for me who's a bit on the autism spectrum and cannot refer to my past and find answers to tricky behavioral questions in real-time. The feedback I received was totally unacceptable. It's very sad that how judgmental their feedback was using only a few vague and cliche behavioral questions.
