One of the worst interactions with a hiring process I’ve ever had!
In November 2024, I applied for the Russian Localisation Specialist position at Wise.
The first interview was a basic screening, after which I received a translation test to assess my skills. The test should have been very easy for anyone with experience in the Translation and Localisation industry.
I sent the test back on Monday, and the company promised to get back to me by the end of the week. That never happened. I sent a follow-up email to check in, but it was ignored.
Some time later, I finally received a response with an appointment for the second interview. However, about an hour before the scheduled time, it was unexpectedly canceled with a vague excuse about pausing recruitment for the time being. I sent another follow-up email asking for clarification, but it was ignored.
About a week later, I discovered that the position had been re-posted. I sent another email to inquire about this, and—guess what?—it was ignored again! This was especially frustrating since every email from the company concluded with a message encouraging applicants to reach out with any questions or concerns.
Finally, right before Christmas Eve, I received an official rejection email with no explanation whatsoever.
To sum it up: As usual, a company that heavily brags about its high corporate standards and inclusivity uses questionable recruiting methods and shows absolutely no respect for applicants, simply ignoring all inconvenient questions. What a disgrace! It was a very frustrating experience and a complete waste of time.
