I don't really understand why companies use online platforms such as HackerRank or Codility to do Pair-Programming sessions. It just feels horrible to try to develop anything in those.
Anyway, that's exactly how the 1st technical interview with Wise is. Write some code in 40min and hope to remember all the syntax of everything without consulting the web and without having an IDE to back you up (debugger, syntax-correction, compiler help, etc).
I just feel like they have absolutely no idea how my code looks like even though I spent 40min coding with them. Just because is such a non-friendly environment (which is never actually used in real life). So what are these companies assessing after all? Beyond my brain capacities...
Also, they cannot give absolutely any feedback during the interview and apparently they don't like giving individual feedback afterwards too. So I have absolutely no idea what I could improve to get better.
I feel that I just wasted my time honestly.
Questions d'entretien [1]
Question 1
Given that you need to call for an external API and it costs X amount of money for each call, how could you waste the minimum amount of money and keep the values up to date? Obs. the values are reliable enough to be kept for 1min. And it has 2% failure rate overall.

There was a phone call with HR, then a technical interview. I had to implement a currency exchange service and think about the resiliency, cost and performance. Overall a nice experience. I was rejected after this step.
