The initial interview with the HR person felt extremely cold and borderline rude. While the HR representative maintained a professional tone, they also seemed disinterested and dismissive of my experience. Part of the issue may have been a language barrier or the HR person's challenges with the English language — although the interview was for a content director who would do marketing work in English primarily for the U.S. market, the HR person's English level was not fluid enough to actually hold a conversation related to this kind of role . She didn't understand common idioms and didn't know the meaning of relatively common words. My attempts to talk about my experience were discouraged or just cut off unceremoniously, and the overall interaction felt stilted and uncomfortable.
