J'ai postulé en ligne. J'ai passé un entretien chez Walt Disney Company (Londres, Angleterre)
Entretien
I applied for an identical role that I had previously done for a number of years in another film studio. I knew I could totally do this role and I was really enthusiastic about the interview, one of the advantages I had was a specific foreign language that I spoke fluently, that this role listed as a requirement. The interview was conducted via Zoom with two interviewers in London and another European city. From the start the conversation felt very stiff and very awkward, rather corporate in a sterile kind of way. Questions by the usual template, no flow or enthusiasm on their part to conduct that interview, which I found very strange. It was obvious that with my years of identical experience I could do this role to the highest standard from day one not needing much training. The strangest part was that I never heard back from the company after the interview, I even followed up TWICE with their HR contact to ask for a feedback - to no avail! Thought that was so poor and unprofessional! One of the strangest interview experiences I've ever had.

I was contacted by a recruiter for a position. The initial phone call with the recruiter and hiring manager were scheduled quickly. From there on, getting scheduled to meet with the team as well as two senior level executives took about two weeks for each interview. There was a total of 3 interviews after the initial discussion with with the hiring manager. At every step of the process, the leaders assured me that things would move quickly. However, from start to finish, it took 5 months to get a decision back. The recruiter did their best to respond to inquiries, however, it seemed that the company was unsure of whether they would move ahead with this position. Overall, the interviews were standard- everyone was kind and asked subject matter focused questions. The process was however lengthy and murky.

GHOSTED! For a company that prides itself on customer service and experience - which candidly was one of the reasons I was excited for the opportunity - I expected to be treated with a bit more respect.
For the most part, was a fairly basic interview. Recruiter called, told me what they wanted and said they liked my resume and wanted to go ahead and schedule an interview with the hiring manager. Conversation with the hiring manager was great and we got along really well, so they wanted me to speak with the leadership team (VPs) as well as a few peers.
The peer interviews were fairly light - my take is they were courtesy interviews to include other team members. The VP interviews were not challenging, per se, but I’m objective enough to know that those interviews didn’t go as well as I would hope. My take is what the hiring manager wanted for the role - which I would have been perfect - wasn’t entirely aligned with what the VPs were looking for, so I got caught off guard and while I tried to recover, it was a
bit awkward. I don’t take that personally - it happens…some interviews go well and some don’t.
It is what it is…I have some hope - maybe it didn’t go as bad as I thought - so now we wait to hear from the recruiter and accept my fate. And wait. And wait.
And wait some more.
Hey, they’re busy and probably still interviewing folks , so let me email the recruiter to get a status update.
Crickets. Maybe they missed the email, so send another just to be sure. More crickets.
It’s now been 6+ weeks since I last interviewed with no update. I suppose it’s possible I will hear from them still - since I haven’t heard a peep - but even if I do, why no update? Why no response to my emails? Why leave me drifting in the wind, regardless of how well I did or didn’t do in the process? I don’t deserve it and I expect more from the happiest place on earth.

Question 1
Standard questions: why Disney, tell me about your work history, etc. Nothing too complicated.
