I met the HR Recruiter at a local job fair and pestered her at least once a week. Finally, I got the call to come for an interview? I went to the back of the store into one of the offices. The area manager took me inside to talk to me while HR was busy on the phone. He asked why I wanted to work at Walmart. I answered .Once HR entered the office the interview began with a series of questions meant to test my competency . Often leading with Describe a time when you ________. I knew some retail I blew two of my question due to nerves but I did my best. I didn't receive an offer but next time. I will apply again in the future though because I think it's a great opportunity. For your interview, learn all you can about the company come prepared to ask questions. Know their mission statement and philosophy , their quarterly report it will tell you a lot and most importantly you can see where the line of questioning will emanate from. After the interview, follow proper protocol follow up with an email thanking them for the interview.

It was a very long interview. The store manager kept me waiting for about twenty minutes. Afterward, I was led into an office, where I met the manager of another store. They both took turns asking me questions, very in-depth questions, like: 1) "name an instance when you were required to execute judgement in a situation based on information. In hindsight, what would have you done differently, should that situation arise in the future?"
From what I gleaned from the interview, the demands and the hours of this position are grueling.

Once the online application was finished I was called the next day and interviewed the following day. A very, very quick response which was nice.
The interview itself was very comfortable, stress free and the interviewers very nice.
I was called within hours with their answer. I like that efficiency. Although the position was not a good fit do to the lack of retail experience, I was encouraged to seek hourly employment if only for one day a week to learn retail in order to apply at a later date. I liked that as I wouldn’t have thought of it. I could seek full time employ elsewhere but keep my foot in the door. Also, even at one day a week I could transfer to other stores. Great advice.

The interview was held at the Ramada Inn in Jacksonville, FL. We were all seated in teams of 5 or 6 around a round table. Each team would rotate around each table and hear managers talk about personal brand, adaptability, building relationships and Q&A with Assistant Manager Trainee graduates. Be prepared to introduce yourself and answer questions regarding those topics when asked, then each team sat with one manager one on one for an interview, but your group were all in the same room. This process was from 8:30 to 12:30. We were told the round table discussions were 40% weight and the interview 60%, so make sure you participate in the discussions. All interview questions were 2 or 3 questions in one so make sure you use the STAR method. Tell me a time?, what steps you took? The interview was Tues and we were told we would know by Friday if we got the job.
