I was rescheduled for an interview twice, both of which were cancelled at the last minute. Additionally, the compensation discussed during the interview did not align with what was advertised. The role was listed as a dollar-paid opportunity on LinkedIn, however during the interview the discussion shifted to INR. Despite sharing all required details and sharing referral details, I was later informed of a rejection. Overall, the hiring experience lacked consistency and clear communication.

My first interview was lovely, while I had my concerns with the company, I felt a good connection with the person that would have been my direct report.
Then came the second interview, which was awkward, stuffy, and just plain uncomfortable. The gentleman I spoke with spent more time bashing the current "low level" employees and confirming over and over again that I would be comfortable with a hybrid position because they needed someone to pick up the slack in HR (because of those same employees he was complaining about.)
I was told they would be in touch by the end of the week. Never heard anything. The following week I got an email from the first person I interviewed with stating she had drafted an email to me but forgot to hit send. She said the manager was overseas and they'd been delayed but they would have a decision the following week.
I didn't hear anything and assumed I was out of the running. Which was fine as I would have likely declined but two weeks later, completely out of the blue, I received another email stating something very similar to the previous interview (Manager still out of the country and THEY PROMISE they'll have a decision next week.)
Look, I'm a recruiter so I understand the need to "keep candidates warm" especially when you're not getting a lot of applicants. You're not going to get amazing employees with these kind of hiring practices. Any seasoned Recruiter can see through it. I broke out in actual laughter when I heard back the last time.
