      Entretien pour Animator

      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 2 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Veteos (Denver, CO) en mars 2024

      Entretien

      1. Interview 1: A short 5-10 minute phone chat with me, the Operations Manager. 2. Interview 2: A 30-45 minute Zoom conversation with our Senior Producer of Motion Graphics and our CEO. 3. Reference Check & Trial Project: A reference check will be completed via an automated online tool alongside a paid test project ($750 for up to 15 hours). A W9 form is needed for payment. 4. Interview 3: A 2-hour Zoom meeting where key team members, whom you'll work with, will participate at various points in the conversation. 5. Job Offer: If selected, a job offer will be made with a start date between ... The above requirements seemed extremely excessive to me, but unfortunately is probably the new norm, seeing as how employers are picky these days. I was happy to see they were willing to pay for a test. I do hope they read these, because frankly, a company who cannot trust a candidate after the first face-to-face (video or in-person) interview and viewing their demo reel, seems to be a company with red flags. The two hour interview is one aspect of the guidelines that is the biggest red flag. Imagine making it almost all the way through the process, going through a whole 2 hours of back-and-forth questions, just to be told you're not a good fit. All of this is after answering essay-like questions on the application as well. If you as a company feel you need to screen candidates to this depth, there is a problem with you as a company; not the candidates or subordinate employees. Their range was 60k to 70k. Veteos, like most companies probably bit at a lower range candidate. For a new employee, they offer only 10 days PTO. This is uncommon and low for most agencies, and surprised me. Whatever happened to the 3 month probationary period? I really hope the person they choose isn't also put on one; they would have jumped through enough hoops with the interview process in my opinion. I've had my eye on this company for awhile. It's disappointing to see it's male-dominant. Curious to see if they hire another male animator. I have interviewed with them in the past; their CEO was condescending and did not conduct a good interview. He stated, "if you can't laugh at my jokes, I'm not sure this is a good fit." Granted, this was years ago, but left me with a bad impression. This was a terrible way to open an interview, and no, it wasn't obvious you were making a joke. I've grown to be a better animator since then and definitely met their skill requirements since I am familiar with their work. I can't help but feel since I'm 7+ years in this industry, employers are hoping to get decent and cheap labor. It makes sense, but that doesn't mean I'm not disappointed Veteos is the same as the rest. I actually would have liked to work here. I've looked at their website from time to time, to check job postings. It seemed they lost a couple of people recently. That possibly should have been a red flag to me then. If you're a recent grad with the chops, you'll probably be a good fit. Veteos unfortunately seems to be jumping on the current hiring trend of giving potential employees less and less; less PTO and salary.

      Questions d'entretien [1]

      Question 1

What would you be if you couldn't be an animator? Honestly the rest were pretty run-of-the-mill questions.
