Oh man where do I begin! This companies interviewing process absolutely sucks and based on the almost 40% negative experience rate I would say they need an entire revamp of their system. The interview reviews here are true! I had probably one of the strangest interviews of my career. I am still processing the confusion and oddness of the event. So let’s begin, this is my third interview. I interviewed first with two recruiters, the hiring managers boss, and now the hiring manager. By this THIRD interview, you would think we are on the right track but unfortunately it became clear we were very misaligned on the comp expectations. What I had learned from the hiring managers boss and recruiters about the base salary was actually their OTE. 🥴 I come from a parallel industry so I would have been making somewhat of a switch and the hiring manager said I would need to take a pay cut and restart my career. Had this been clear on the first interview I NEVER would have invested time prepping for this interview, I would have walked away from this opportunity right then knowing a career revamp is NOT what I am looking for. I had also asked the recruiters if my current experience would be a good fit for this role and they said yes because I come from a parallel technical field. At no point before the third interview did anyone say that this would be a career restart. Their recruiters need to be able to share the compensation range with full transparency on the first call to ensure they don’t waste everyone’s time who was involved. I called the recruiters to let them know how misaligned my third interview was and the provide my feedback but they did not return my call.

Had an initial phone screening with the recruiter that was rescheduled twice. When I did finally a call, I was asked one question (tell me about yourself) and then the interview ended. Not kidding. She made a comment that I only had 2 and a half years of quota-carrying experience instead of 3 years. I gave an explanation on my end on other sales related roles and how I considered myself still to be a good fit, but essentially she said she’d bring it up to the hiring manager and then hung up. Absolutely unprofessional and rude. Clearly was just reading my resume for the first time on the call, and wasted all our times. 4 weeks have gone by, crickets (would reject anyway).
