I was approached by one of Veeva's in-house recruiters, who thought I'd be a good fit for the position, which was an accurate assessment based on the job description and my level of experience.
We scheduled an initial interview, which was very pleasant and resulted in my being invited to an interview with Veeva Management. I felt that this second interview, while being OK, went significantly worse than the one with their recruiter. I didn't feel an immediate connection or spark. The manager who interviewed me (who would've been my boss) seemed barely more experienced than me. It seemed she had only skimmed my resume and wasn't really that interested in hiring me to begin with, so it did feel like a waste of my time.
Unsurprisingly, I wasn't invited to further discussions, which was the right call. However, I was taken aback by the fact that they decided to even invite me to a second interview without being properly prepared.
What's more, the rejection was sent through an automated messaging system (no-reply email address) and thus ended up in my spam folder. The reasoning for why I was rejected was also a bit ridiculous. I brought this up with their recruiter to avoid such situations for future candidates, but never received any sort of reply. All in all, I felt that this was handled poorly and my time was not being respected.
The entire process was done remotely.
