Recruiter call, then standard code signal online assessment. Both were decent. The next round was technical screen with a data scientist (not with the hiring manager!). She was reading through a document and asking questions without really knowing the answers to them or to know how to follow-up. The question were very machine learning basics and I answered all of them but she said we do our own models, we make our own models at home! I don't know what that means. She didn't know most basic of ML and was disinterested from the beginning. I think companies should make a point of sending hiring managers or someone more knowledgeable for a technical screen. Someone who better understands the team dynamics and work involved.

If you’re considering interviewing with the data scientist team in San Jose, I’d recommend thinking twice. My experience with the interview process was disappointing, particularly due to the disrespectful behavior of the hiring manager.
To start, the recruiter was great—friendly, clear, and thorough in explaining the role, team, interview process, and even the benefits. The online assessment (OA) was straightforward, consisting of four algorithm questions to be solved within 45 minutes.
However, things went downhill after that. Scheduling the interview with the hiring manager was a hassle; they rescheduled multiple times and even set a meeting outside my stated availability. While that was frustrating, it wasn’t the biggest issue. The real problem was the hiring manager’s behavior during the interview. They reduced the interview time from 45 minutes to 30 minutes and barely asked any meaningful questions. It was clear they weren’t interested in giving candidates a fair opportunity, seemingly judging people based on cultural differences or accents. This experience felt incredibly disrespectful and unprofessional.

Applied online and then a recruiter reached out to me via email about scheduling a 30 minutes long video interview which was supposed to consist behavioral and high level technical questions. Based on their calendar, I scheduled it on Nov 26th at first. Then the recruiter told me that she can't make at that time and gave me some additional options. I rescheduled the interview on Dec 1st. However, I never got a confirmation email with the meeting link. I sent two reminder emails and got no response. Still I waited during the scheduled time and didn't get any response. The recruiter just simply ghosted me.
The company's employees seem to leave 5 star reviews on Glassdoor and may be its true regarding the work experience in this company. However, their HR is broken and I should have known it going through the interview experience of most of the candidates.
I mean, come on! How hard is it to send a rejection email saying that the position has been filled rather than destroying the company's reputation. Really disappointed with such unprofessional behavior.
