      Entretien

It was a five round interview process. First round was a Teams meeting with the person who would've been my direct boss and his boss. Second round was an offline 10 problem logic test which they asked me to print so I could write my answers down, scan them back in and send them back along with any scratch paper I used so they could see my work. The test was supposed to be done in 30 minutes or less via the honor system. Third round was a technical interview over Teams in which I was probed on how I would solve various problems and asked to live code solutions to some of them. This was a typical tech interview and wasn't filled with gotcha questions, so I give them massive credit for that. Fourth round was a one-on-one Teams meeting with the Chief Product Officer. Fifth round was a panel interview with a future team member, HR and some mid-level managers in the group the position was associated with. Needless to say, this process took up a great deal of my time, but I was excited about the position as it seemed a perfect fit for the technical skills that I offer and really fit with the direction I wanted to move my career in. In any event the end result was, "Not a culture fit". My guess is that what this really means is that after the fifth round, somebody took it upon themselves to dig through my blog and social media content and found some things that indicated that I wasn't quite as conservative or religious as a tech worker out of a red state is presumed to be. Obviously I have no way of confirming this but I knew going into the process that this company was a bit wacky based on the Glassdoor reviews that indicate they do things like open company wide meetings with a prayer. I was okay with that. I'm a tolerant person. Besides I'm used to living with other people's religion and conservative politics as a liberal atheist in a red state. But I guess the same courtesy just can't be afforded to me. Whatever the actual reason (mind you, the last paragraph is purely conjecture on my part supported only by inference and context clues), this was a real shame. We could've done great things together.
