Instead of interviewing with a recruiter, candidates must record answers to questions in HireVue. Questions pertain to previous tutoring experience. You are asked near the end of the interview to teach a 10-minute demo lesson on "any topic you like" and are given 30 minutes to prepare. It isn't reasonable to ask someone to do a simulated teaching demo on a topic not specified, using their phone to record themselves, with no whiteboard or visual references, to an imaginary student. This is a completely artificial situation and not a way to assess tutoring or teaching proficiency.
