Probably one of the worst screening calls I’ve had so far. The recruiter was late, first off, then proceeded to have the least conversational dialogue I’ve ever experienced. Definitely felt more like an interrogation, and the overall vibe was just unpleasant. When it was time for their spiel, they said maybe 2 sentences max about the role with no further insight into the company nor the interview process. When I asked the questions I had prepared, along with some questions based off of our conversation, they simply responded with scripted replies, not actually answering what I was asking. Further clarification/reiterating the question was futile, as I was given the same, scripted answer. If they had at least acknowledged whether or not they had that specific information, and then provided their script, it would’ve shown that they were actually hearing what I was asking and that the interview wasn’t so blatantly one-sided. It was pretty ironic, given that they expected an extremely detailed description over everything in my resume (they asked 0 behavioral questions), but couldn’t answer my standard questions. To close, it wasn’t difficult, but it was NOT enjoyable being treated like a cog rather than a human from a RECRUITER.
