J'ai postulé via une autre source. J'ai passé un entretien chez VEG ER for Pets en oct. 2025

Phone screen then in person. Then easy nursing skills exam. Then I was told (in writing)….my ND/ASD weren’t in alignment with VEG core values…. What else can I say?? Apparently openness and honestly aren’t the way to go
Easy down to earth conversation. Interview was done over the phone. Was able to get all my questions answered and more! The person who was interviewing me was very informative but also listed to what I had to say

Question 1
What is the reason I am leaving my current job and what would I do to improve them if I got an opportunity
J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 2 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez VEG ER for Pets (San Ramon, CA) en juil. 2021

The interview process is quite straightforward for this industry – a phone interview first, followed by a working interview. The phone interview was quite pleasant, I spoke with the manager for about 30 minutes and was immediately requested to come in for an in-person shadowing opportunity.
The working interview was typical as well. I was asked to shadow one of the current technicians – unfortunately I found her quite dismissive and flippant; simple questions like "where can I find a thermometer for a TPR?" were met with a huff and an eyeroll. I ultimately ended up shadowing (and assisting) a different technician that was much more engaging and helpful.
I received an offer from VEG but found it relatively low for the area and for my experience level. I counteroffered with room for negotiation and never received a response. I sent a follow up with a request for update on negotiations on compensation, and the question was all-together ignored. It's unfortunate that in veterinary medicine, we're taught not to advocate for ourselves, but it seems fairly unprofessional to completely ignore an email requesting salary negotiation. I would have been understanding if I received something stating that the pay I was asking for was not possible, however this is Silicon Valley, CA. We negotiate salaries here.
