Applied online, was contacted by HR person that they wanted to schedule in-person interview with hiring manager. The HR person was very verbatim and not-personable at all, kind of sounded scripted.
Anyways, went to in person interview, hiring manager was late(20 minutes). Interview was very conversational, basic behavioural questions dealing with employees, strengths and weaknesses. Her office was a mess, not sure why she would interview someone there. The building is old and dated(they are moving to a new office downtown) as well.
Interview was ok, but I felt the hiring manager was more focused on the coffee her assistant went to get at Starbucks then the interview itself and she kept looking at her computer for any emails. She kept interrupting when I was responding as well. I feel that 100% of her attention should have be on the interview, just my two cents.
They asked for my references, I gave to them but I told me to let me know ahead of time before contacting them as I was going to turn them now, as I did not want to proceed.
They contacted my references anyways and after a couple weeks called me to tell me I was not selected. I was really glad.
