I went through a 4-round interview process, including an assessment and a 1.5-hour case study presentation. During the process, I was told the presentation wouldn’t test my knowledge of Uber-specifics or knowledge. However, a month later, I received a rejection citing that I didn’t present an “Uber-specific” solution, which directly contradicted the earlier guidance. Additionally, the recruiter mentioned they were looking for someone more senior, which was confusing given that the role required a minimum of 5 years of experience, and I have over 8. When I asked for clarification, I pointed out that I was contacted for the role (I didn’t apply), and it’s surprising that concerns about seniority were only brought up after four rounds of interviews.
The recruiter acknowledged my concerns but said they had selected another candidate. I already have a job, but I was genuinely interested in the opportunity when approached. Overall, it felt like a frustrating and inconsistent process unfortunately, a waste of time.
