J'ai postulé en personne. Le processus a pris 1 semaine. J'ai passé un entretien chez US Navy

There is not a "typical" interview process to become a Naval Officer, and the exact details may vary depending on your desired commissioning source; however, regardless of the path chosen, you can expect to be interviewed by at least one, but more typically a panel of 3-4 Naval Officers. My commissioning source was OCS and I was interviewed by three officers: one Commander and two senior Lieutenants. After the interview, your application goes to the Bureau of Naval Personnel where it is screened by another panel of officers.

Question 1
Not unexpected, but the most difficult question is "Why do you want to be a Naval Officer?" I've been on the other side of the interviewing table and asked this many times. It seems to be the question that gives many people the greatest difficulty.

Applying to be a commissioned officer in the military (specifically the Navy, as this is my service) is completely different than civilian organizations. You may never meet the hiring manager when you interview. I have interviewed many people to become an officer, through different commissioning programs. I have completed a standard interviewing appraisal for each applicant that is then sent off to a hiring board for consideration.

I initially met an officer recruiter and filled out basic paperwork.
I had to take a test that is called the Aviation Selection Test Battery to determine if I was a competitive applicant other than my GPA from college.
Next step was medical at MEPS, which was painful.
After MEPS, I completed the application for commission and SF-86 for my security clearance.
Application was presented to a board and determined if I received a commission or not.
