You go into your recruiters office knowing what kind of job that you wanna do and then you sit down with him and figure out if its a good fit for you. You'll then go to a thing called meps and get your contract phase started and go from there.

They will ask, your age, your family size, they will check your body composition, if you had any problems with the law, your education and if you ever have taken the ASVAB or the military entrance test

Just walk in and sign your life away, you need basic info about yourself, ged or diploma. If you have a degree you could go in as an officer, which is better pay.
