Focussed on past experiences and taking questions from two or more people. There is often, but not always, a very deferential approach to the hierarchy. Consultants are, apparently, not subjected to the requirement for regional equity that staff positions are.

Very harsh interviews, very demanding on your background. We basically discussed about the situation in South Africa and Namibia, as I mentioned in my CV that I have been working as volunteers there. UNICEF has a few projects there and they challenged my understanding about local political practices.

The interview was scheduled after shortlisting and was focused on the job description at hand. It was straightforward but the results took awhile to come back as they have a lot of procedures to follow.
