Online via Teams. Three person panel. Scheduled for 45 minutes. First portion spent going through a pre-interview task of creating a reproducible report of epidemiology of a disease outbreak. After this, I was expecting behaviour and strength based questions based on job description and all researched info about interviews at UKHSA, but most focus was put into technical questions to do with disease outbreaks, characteristics of viruses, facts about data governance. Mainly closed questions that had a right/wrong answer but could easily be found with a few clicks. This approach really threw me off and if I didnt know an answer it felt very awkward. I think this type of questioning didnt allow me to really express how I would be a good candidate for the job and felt more like a test. Must admit felt very deflated by the end.
