Interviewed with three providers within the department. Everyone was very professional and friendly. However, MDs frequently referred to position as "midlevel." Mid-level provider isn’t a legal or academic term. It is slang developed to demean or minimize a health professional, who is not an MD. UF should consider how this terminology impacts a patient's view of the provider and the care they provide, as well as how the interviewee perceives their value within the organization.
