Scheduled for a 90min interview and was asked to share screen of Android Studio via Teams. During the interview process, it was hard to understand the questions that was being asked and what the interviewer was trying to achieve as all i was told was to create Activities and Fragments with ViewModels which can be easily generated via Android Studio. After which i was tasked to create variables of state flows and functions to mutate them. During which i was asked questions of what certain function does which can be easily answered by hovering over the function in Android Studio.

Scheduling & communication: Interview was scheduled via the candidate portal; the listed recruiter did not respond to messages before or after the interview.
Round structure: Began with ~15–20 minutes of behavioral and past-experience questions, followed by technical questions and one coding exercise.
Duration: Although slated for 60 minutes, the session ran over due to the combined rounds.
Post-interview follow-up: I followed up for ~2 weeks. I received one message requesting a visa assessment but no acknowledgment of my questions about interview outcomes or next steps. It has been ~1 month with no further contact, so I’ve paused follow-ups.

Did a hackerrank test with multiple choice questions and a hands on coding test consisting of pulling a response from an API and parsing them which included pagination handling. Managed to finish it in 1 hour out of the 2 hours allotment of the exam with fully passing tests and clean code.
Passed the hackerrank stage and I got scheduled for an evening technical assessment to accommodate the interviewer residing on a different timezone. Come interview day and the interviewer who needed their timezone accommodated did not manage to attend.
Only one other interviewer attended who did not turn on their video throughout the interview. As other reviews here have mentioned, we were asked to share screen and create activities and fragments and viewmodels / coroutines / flows, we were not asked of breadth and depth of Android and software engineering practices. I was judged because I haven't memorized how to create coroutines and flows which are literally just a newer way of doing concurrency and observer pattern, respectively. The interviewer also have a lot of misconceptions on Kotlin language features and how Kotlin coroutines are actually working behind the scenes. I only played along until the end because ultimately this is not a teammate I would have liked to work with. And to top it all of it was mentioned they were looking for someone who is "a bit more senior" despite working even beyond senior engineer levels for many years hitting top KPIs and reviews from managers and peers on my previous companies.
tldr; Interviewer I encountered isn't professional nor an expert at what they do, and their job description / responsibilities for the role do not get tested on the technical assessment they conduct.
