The hiring manager received the initial call. I had a nice conversation with her, and she asked about pay as the interview came to a close. She acknowledged my desire for reimbursement, but she hardly said anything and the call came to a close. After 3 days I received an rejection mail.

First call was with the hiring manager. Had a great discussion with him, and the interview ended with him asking about compensation. He heard my compensation request and hardly said more in the interview and the call ended. Didn't respond to my thank you note. No further communication other than form rejection letter. This company could more effectively use candidate time if they ask for compensation expectations up front.
