Was shortlisted for a formal interview with the HOD, hiring manager and one colleague. Interview was alright, and I was notified that I am selected for the role the very next day. The HR Executive then did a verbal offer, and insisted I give a response on the day itself. It was too rushed and I thought that it was too good to be true. Requested for some time (1-2 days) to consider and fast forward to the day I accepted the offer, they suddenly decided to retract the offer via a call.
It was very unprofessional and the reason is because they have found someone more suitable for the role. Isn’t it suspicious on how I was the “suitable” candidate but they decided to give the role to someone else even though I have accepted it? Shortly after, they dropped me an official email that I was rejected. Can you imagine if I turned down other job offers for this and yet the offer is retracted?
Be warned.
