My initial screening meeting with the recruiter didn’t actually involve him asking me any questions about my background or experience - he basically told me what he thought my relevant skills were and spent most of the time talking about himself and bragging about how amazing the company was (Did you know they’ve never done layoffs? They only fire people for cause!). I was moved on to meet with a hiring manager who, despite being pretty new to the company, already seemed exhausted and beaten down. She also didn’t really ask me any questions about my prior roles or relevant work and mostly just fished for “consulting” type suggestions about how I thought they could improve their content strategy. She also warned me that I probably wouldn’t hear back from them ”for a while” on next steps - this turned into “never” since, like most candidates, I was ghosted.

Was told I would advance to the next round of interviews, emailed the person with availability when they reached out, and never heard anything from them again. No idea why you’d ghost a candidate mid-process.
