I was submitted through a recruiter. There were two in-person interviews with both of the writers I would be working with. The first interview was pleasant and efficient: an hour-long conversation about my experience, my technical skills, and my ability to adapt to a new environment very quickly. At the conclusion of this interview, it was hinted that I would be brought back for a second in-person interview with another manager. I felt good about my chances. The second interview was a completely different experience. First of all, the other manager was not in attendance. It was me and the same two writers I had interviewed with previously. And the conversation was anything but pleasant. It felt like an interrogation. Similar questions were asked and I felt like I was being judged on the consistency of my responses rather than the responses themselves. And then the real unpleasantness began. I was asked a series of questions about my personality.: "Could I 'dial it down'?" "Can you work with people with different energy levels than your own?" "How good are you at following the lead of someone different than you?" With each question I struggled to keep my composure. I managed, but barely. Never in my professional life have I left an interview feeling so degraded and insulted. If this interview is any indication of what it is like to work in that office, then I would stay far far away from this company. I have never been happier to not receive an offer of employment.

I was asked to introduce myself and then was asked to write a user manual for a helmet. I was then asked to describe about the roles and responsibilities of the job. I was asked to tell about the information that I had known about the company. The last question was what makes you different from the other candidates and why should we hire you.
