I applied for a Director of Business Development role in 2024, and the TA Team contacted me not long after to set up an interview, asking me to book it myself in their calendar. I was ready and did a lot of prep ahead of it. The recruiter cancelled my interview four minutes before it was scheduled to start, saying an internal meeting had come up. She then asked for my availability over the next four days, and I replied, letting her know she could choose a day and time, and I would make myself available. I thought this would give me the best chance to have the interview shortly.
I did not hear back for those dates. I followed up twice but got no response. Eight days later, she called me out of the blue while I was working in the garden, asking if it was a good time to talk. Of course, I said yes. We then proceeded with a brief screening that lasted ten minutes. It felt rushed, and she seemed preoccupied during the call.
Overall, it was not a great experience, which was a shame because I had previously had positive interactions with the company, including other interviews.
