Phone interview with the prospective boss followed by a full day on-campus visit. Talked to almost every lab’s PI in the department. Everybody was friendly. Was asked to give a short presentation about previous work.

The interview process was very smooth, and the professor made me feel comfortable. The professor was interested in learning about my background, my motivation, my interests and shared information about the funding project. He explained the deliverables and what was expected of me as a GRA.
