      Entretien

Three Step interview process. 1. Short personality interview with HR person. 2. Full day shadow of employee 3. Interview with "owner/boss/ceo". I'm intending to be completely objective and helpful to the next applicant here, so this is going to be long but completely honest. A few things didn't sit right with me throughout the interview process. First, during the shadowing process, I shadowed a "top" account manager and when he went door to door to introduce himself, he actually said he was from a different company (NEC) instead of NLD. In the next interview round, I asked the CEO for clarification and he simply dismissed my query by saying that it isn't an unusual thing to have multiple companies located in one office and that it was "easier to prevent confusion" if he simply hired under the name NLD (which they are not). So, I left feeling very at unease knowing that I was tricked into interviewing with a different company than I applied for because all my phone and email correspondence was with the NLD HR person. I was told that NLD apparently represents Verizon and that NEC represents T-Mobile and there is no overlap between the two. Why do you share the same office and HR person then? And why the secrecy because if I didn't ask, they wouldn't have clarified. Secondly, I observed during my 9 HOUR LONG (9.30a.m - 6.30 p.m) shadow day that there was no system in place for their so called "B2B" sales. The way it works is that each person is given an area to cover. And by cover, I mean literally walk into every business establishment in that area and talk to every person in there to convince them to switch from their current mobile carrier to T-Mobile. That is not business to business because you engaged the employees of those businesses (during their work hours) and tried to persuade them to switch their PERSONAL phone lines. NOT THE BUSINESS'S PHONE LINE. While I understand that sales jobs will entail a lot of influencing, persuading and selling, I think that it's slightly dishonest to say this is business to business when you are literally walking into somebody's work place and asking them to switch their personal phone providers (many of whom are on family plans, so that meant switching their family members' providers too) Finally, there is no base salary. I asked and the answer given was that the base is $500 a week, IF I make 2-3 sales that week. So if i don't, there is no salary.

I applied for this job based on job description and location, it was posted to be 24minutes from where I live, but was actually over 1 hr 15minutes away. I immediately received a call for a phone interview and she was up beat and kind. She scheduled a 2nd interview for the following day.

15 minute phone call ...woman sounded really enthusiastic. I felt like she was trying to sell me the job. She didn't give many details about what the job actually was just kept trying to tell me how much of an advancement opportunity I could have
