I applied through my school's career search. After I passed the first round of applications (recommendations, application, resume, etc), I got an interview. The interview was over the phone and two whole hours long. There were 3 people interviewing me on the other side. Though I told my interviewers that I was unfamiliar with a couple of the techniques used in their lab (since they are expensive and new techniques), they still grilled me on them. They also asked details that were so specific, even my lab manager said they were tricky for her to answer.
After all that, they said they would contact me in one week to let me know of their decision. One week, two weeks came and went. I emailed the address provided twice and they never responded. I called, and left two voice mails. After a month I basically gave up. I was so upset that they never had the courtesy to respond to me. It was quite unprofessional and mean to a senior in college weighing job prospects.
