Very fast (20 mins) over Teams. No proper introduction from the interviewer, very in depth technical questions asked - the kind that you don't need day to day but rather on rare occasions, was not too happy with the idea that I refer to a notebook for issues in that depth but instead wanted me to know the Alabaster Ruling by it's technical term (I know the law it refers to, but my mind went blank when thinking of the official termination as it is not something I quote regularly), and the exact threshold's for NI bands and the contribution % off the top of my head. A lot of focus on pensions and handling complex payroll scenarios which tells me they likely have to correct complex issues regularly. Overall, the interviewer seemed friendly enough, but after receiving an invite for a 20 minute Teams call, I was expecting more of an informal chat to see if a formal interview should be arranged, therefore I was very taken back when it took the turn that it did and was very unprepared for such an in depth and technical line of questioning. If you have an interview lined up, just be prepped for a very fast to the point top notch knowledge style line of questioning before even a brief "Hello, my name is...my position is...".
