Applied online in October.
If they they'll call you on a certain day, you can bet they won't. These people who no understanding of how a calender works...
If they say they'll call you on day X, expect to not hear from them for a week or more after that. You'll probably have to reach out to them again.
Got 3 phone interviews, followed by an onsite interview.
Phone interviews: why you want to work for Tesla? What kind of work processes have you worked with?
Onsite: 30 minute presentation followed by a quick group Q&A, then 8 half hour one-on-ones.
The recruiter informed me that I will be notified after the holidays whether I move on to the next round or not. I reached out to him after the holidays, got a reply with positive feedback, but that he'd get back to me in about a week or so for confirmation. That was the last time I heard from this guy...
I reached out to another contact point on the team that interviewed me. He responds that all of a sudden there's a "hiring freeze" and they can't hire anybody...they'd let me know in a couple of weeks.
I check back every 2 or 3 weeks, contact point informs me that he's sorry he doesn't have any new info and he'll let me know asap...right...
After about 2 months, I email another member of the team who's senior to my contact point and had given me his contact info. I simply ask for feedback on my presentation, just to get an idea of what might have gone wrong. He doesn't answer, instead I get an email from the contact point telling me that this senior guy was upset that i had the audacity to contact him, and that most likely affected the consideration to hire me. SERIOUSLY??? I was pretty insulted by this and that's when I just decided to forget about it. If they don't show any respect when trying to hire you, you can be sure they won't show any when you're hired...
Why the hell would you give someone your contact information and then get offended if they reach out to you? Talk about having a stick up your butt...
