30 minutes of HR interview. After brief introduction from the interviewer side, I shortly explained my background, experience, interests etc. Then she asked that "so you're working at X company right?" like she didn't listened to what I have just summarized. When I said no, she took some time to response and told me that there was another candidate with the same first name and she confused the CVs. She took more time to find my CV and asked which position that I've applied. Then the interview continued as normal. General stuff like working in a fast-paced environment, salary expectation, strengths/weaknesses etc. and I was informed about the next steps, then the interview has finished.
After 2 hours, I got the rejection e-mail. I strongly believe that I was called to the interview at the first place because of the name confusion, which I find it odd since I have a short and easy name. After the interviewer realized the situation during the interview she didn't take immediate action and continued which made me feel like a fool. I think the whole process was very unprofessional.
